Ngoni Royal Establishment Suspends Activities After Mpezeni’s Death

The Ngoni Royal Establishment says all Ngoni activities, including the Ncwala Ceremony where Paramount Chief Mpezeni played a central role, have been put on hold.
This follows the demise of Paramount Chief Mpezeni IV, who was laid to rest on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
Speaking at a briefing at Ephendukeni Palace in Chipata, Eastern Province, Chief Mnukwa said Senior Chief Nzamane will continue heading the establishment until the next Mpezeni is selected.
Meanwhile, the Ngoni Royal Establishment has dismissed social media reports alleging that Chief Mishoro of Kasenengwa District has died.
