Yesterday, The Mulaza Kaira Campaign Song Competition officially came to a close. And what a journey it has been.
I sat back many nights.. phone in hand, listening to song after song after song. Over 100 original tracks. Each one carrying the hopes, struggles na heartbeat ya Nchanga. Some of you used your hard-earned money to pay for studio time. Others recorded in makeshift bedrooms, church halls, or community spaces. And still, you gave us quality, passion, and truth..
You didn’t wait for permission. You didn’t ask for payment upfront. You believed in this movement our movement and you put your talent, your resourcesvand your voice on the line.
I see you. I thank you. I honor you.
To every artist from Copperbelt, Lusaka, Muchinga, Northern and every corner of this beautiful Zambia you showed us that change has a soundtrack. And it sounds like unity.
